NBA Games on Election Day (2022)

If you were hoping to watch your favorite NBA team today, unfortunately you will have to wait until tomorrow, Wednesday November 9th.

This year there are no NBA games on Tuesday, November 8th.

The reason for this is that the NBA does not want to compete with the United States Midterm Elections.

Why are there no NBA games on Election Day?

The NBA announced in August that there would be no games this year on election day. To encourage civic engagement, the NBA decided that there would be no games on election day this year. Instead, they hope that the 30 teams will use the day to promote voting in their communities.

Players such as LeBron James and Steph Curry have been vocal about the importance of voting in this year’s midterm elections.

Many teams have also held voter registration drives and other events to encourage their fans to engage in their local politics.

When will NBA games resume after Election Day?

NBA Games will resume a normal schedule on Wednesday, November 9th. There will be 13 games starting at 7:00 PM EST.
