Joe Musgrove (SD) Under 5.5 Total Strikeouts
Joe Musgrove and the San Diego Padres will be facing the Los Angeles Dodgers. Musgrove has a 2.93 ERA and 24.9% strikeout rate. Musgrove has been averaging 1.0 strikeouts per inning, which would require him to go at least 6.0 innings. The Dodgers have a 22.0% strikeout rate and 10.8% swinging strike rate as well as a 18.5 ISO. The Padres currently lead the series 2-1, so I expect their offense to be fighting back. The Padres could also be more conservative with Musgrove’s leash tonight too.
George Kirby (SEA) Over 3.5 Total Strikeouts
George Kirby and the Seattle Mariners will be facing the Houston Astros. George Kirby has a 3.39 ERA and 24.5% strikeout rate. Kirby has been averaging 1.0 strikeouts per inning, which would require him to go at least 4.0 innings which is extremely likely. The Astros have a 19.5% strikeout rate and 10.2% swinging strike rate as well as a 17.6 ISO.
Luis Severino (NYY) Over 3.5 Total Strikeouts
Luis Severino and the New York Yankees will be facing the Cleveland Guardians. Luis Severino has a 3.18 ERA and 27.7% strikeout rate. Severino has been averaging 1.1 strikeouts per inning, which would require him to go at least 3.6 innings. The Guardians have a 18.2% strikeout rate and 9.1% swinging strike rate as well as a 12.9 ISO. This line is likely to shift up to 4.5 strikeouts, which could still be worth considering.
Rhys Hoskins (PHI) Over 0.5 Total Hits
Rhys Hoskins and the Philadelphia Phillies will be facing the Atlanta Braves. Hoskins has a 33.2% on base percentage, 0.462 SLG, and 0.246 batting average. Hoskins also has a 122 wRC+. Charlie Morton will be pitching for The Braves and has a 4.34 ERA, 28.2% strikeout rate, 3.61 xFIP and 1.47 HR/9.
