Wade Miley (CHC) Under 4.5 Total Strikeouts

In this matchup I expect hitters to have a slight advantage. The Marlins have a 23.9% strikeout rate and 11.9% swinging strike rate as well as a 13.2 ISO.
Max Scherzer (NYM) Under 6.5 Total Strikeouts
Max Scherzer and the New York Mets will be facing the Milwaukee Brewers. Scherzer has a 2.26 ERA and 30.6% strikeout rate. Scherzer has been averaging 1.2 strikeouts per inning, which would require him to go at least 5.8 innings which could go either way. This will be Scherzer’s first start after being on the IL. I expect that Max Scherzer wouldn’t come back if he weren’t 100%, but there is always a chance of some lingering rust around first games back. This is by no means a sure bet, but situationally it could be worth a shot.

Cory Abbott and the Washington Nationals will be facing the Atlanta Braves. Abbott has a 4.37 ERA and 20.8% strikeout rate. This will likely be a tough outing for Abbott to stay ahead. The Braves have a 24.5% strikeout rate and 13.0% swinging strike rate as well as a 19.1 ISO.
Tyler Alexander (DET) Over 2.5 Total Strikeouts
Tyler Alexander and the Detroit Tigers will be facing the Baltimore Orioles. Tyler Alexander has a 5.35 ERA and 12.3% strikeout rate. Alexander has been averaging 0.5 strikeouts per inning, but this matchup could be a good one for Alexander. The Orioles have a 23.0% strikeout rate and 12.0% swinging strike rate as well as a 15.4 ISO.
